The Business Excellence Contest is a business competition co-organised by Hong Kong Community College and the School of Professional Education and Executive Development of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU HKCC and PolyU SPEED) for secondary and post-secondary students.

The annual Business Excellence Contest came to a close in April 2022.

The theme for the competition this year is “Green Innovation Campaign”.

"BAFS Talk Series: Finance practices amid pandemic and career development in the hotel industry" will be held by Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for Secondary 4-6 students.

Organised by the Division of Business and Hospitality Management, the Final Round Adjudication of the “HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2020/21 – Transforming Business with Artificial Intelligence” was completed on 16 April 2021.

The Final Round Adjudication of the HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2020/21 – Transforming Business with Artificial Intelligence has been completed.

The second round of free DSE English and Maths talks will be conducted by PolyU HKCC English and Maths lecturers on 10 April 2021 (Saturday) to help DSE students better prepare for the exam.

Organised by the Division of Business and Hospitality Management, the webinar "BAFS Talk Series: Entrepreneurship – How Esports became a Profitable Industry" was held on 5 March 2021 for 500 students from 31 secondary schools.

The HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2020/21, organised by the Division of Business and Hospitality Management for secondary school students, kicked off with a webinar entitled “Key Features of AI Application in Businesses” on 22 January 2021.

To provide students with insights into the E-sports industry, a "BAFS Talk Series: Entrepreneurship – How E-sports became a Profitable Industry" will be held by Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for Secondary 4-6 students.

The HKCC Business Excellence Contest is an annual business competition organised by Hong Kong Community College of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU HKCC) for Secondary 4 to Secondary 6 students. The theme for the competition this year is “Transforming Business with Artificial Intelligence”.

Organised by the Division of Business and Hospitality Management, the webinar entitled “BAFS Talk Series - Bringing Theory to Practice” was conducted on 9 October 2020 for local secondary school students.

To provide students with insights into the important area of business management, a "BAFS Talk Series: Entrepreneurial vs Operational Business Challenges: How do They Compare? Frontline Experience from Ideation to Implementation" will be held by Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for Secondary 4-6 students.

Supported by the Division of Business and Hospitality Management, the HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2019/20 with the theme of “A Brand Revitalisation Campaign” held its Final Round Adjudication on 24 June 2020.

Organised by the Division of Business and Hospitality Management, the HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2019/20 with the theme of “A Brand Revitalisation Campaign” kicked off recently. A talk was held on 17 January 2020 on PolyU West Kowloon Campus for enhancing students’ knowledge and skills in business and market analysis as well as developing a brand revitalisation campaign. Mr Lambert Chan, Chief Executive of UNICEF HK, was invited to be our guest speaker to share some key elements in developing a brand revitalisation campaign. The talk attracted around 150 students and teachers from 20 secondary schools.

HKCC's project "STEM Maker", funded by the Quality Education Fund, was completed on 31 December 2019. A grant of $492,600 was received to support a variety of training activities for teachers and students from seven secondary schools. They were taught to use Arduino, a small electronic device. Incorporated with different sensors and supported by computer programs, Arduino has been used in thousands of different applications. The Final Adjudication of the HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2018/19 – Launching a Marketing Campaign through a Corporate Alliance was successfully held on 13 April 2019. A total of 85 entries from 30 secondary schools have been received.

The final adjudication of the HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2018/19, with the theme of “Launching a Marketing Campaign through a Corporate Alliance”, was held on 13 April 2019 on PolyU West Kowloon Campus. Five out of 85 teams from 30 secondary schools were shortlisted to present their proposals. We were honoured to invite Mr Raymond Poon, Partner (Financial Services), PwC Hong Kong; Mr Chris Tang, Vice President, Institute of Accountants Exchange; and Mr Allen Lau, Chief Operating Officer, Mira Watch International Ltd to be the adjudicators. The Gold Award went to Holy Family Canossian College, while the Silver Award and Bronze Award went to S.T.F.A. Lee Shau Kee College and Sacred Heart Canossian College respectively. Holy Trinity College and Pui Ching Middle School each got a Merit Award.

We are very pleased that the HKCC Business Excellence Contest has received good responses this year. A total of 85 entries from 30 secondary schools have been received. After the first round adjudication, the five teams are being selected to enter the Final Round Adjudication scheduled for 13 April 2019.

To help students gain a better understanding of the digital marketing, a “BAFS Talk Series: Applying Traditional Strategies in Digital Marketing” will be held by Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for Secondary 4-6 students.

Organised by the Division of Business, the “BAFS Talk Series - Bringing Theory to Practice” was held on 2 March 2019 on PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus for secondary school students. It was our honour to have Mr Joe Lam, Director of Digital Marketing and e-Commerce in a luxury resort group in Macau, as our guest speaker and shared his valuable experience in applying traditional marketing strategies in the digital era. More than 90 secondary school students and teachers from 12 schools attended the talk.

To kick off the annual HKCC Business Excellence Contest for Secondary 4 to Secondary 6 students, a guest talk on “Launching a Marketing Campaign through a Corporate Alliance” was held on PolyU West Kowloon Campus on 25 January 2019. During the talk, Mr Lambert Chan, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF and Adjunct Assistant Professor of PolyU, provided students with the key features and real cases of corporation alliances in Hong Kong. The participants are now working hard on their proposals for the Final Round Adjudication cum Award Presentation Ceremony scheduled for 13 April.

The SCOLAR-funded Putonghua Enhancement Programme - “Drama Dreams Taking Off – Putonghua Training Programme for Drama Ambassadors” has come to the very last stage with the Sharing Session cum Award Presentation Ceremony held on 24 November 2018 at PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus. Drama adjudicators Professor Tam Shing-chu and Mr Chiang Chi-zhong presented “The Best Performance Award” and also a certificate to 22 participating secondary schools. Organised by the Division of Business of HKCC, a guest talk “BAFS Talk Series - Bringing Theory to Practice” was held on 19 October 2018 on PolyU West Kowloon Campus for secondary school students. Mr Raymond Poon, Partner, Assurance – Financial Services Practice, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Hong Kong, was invited as our guest speaker to share his valuable experience in applying theory into practice in accounting functions. The talk attracted 312 secondary school students and teachers from 26 secondary schools. It not only enriched students’ learning experience in Business, Accounting and Financial Studies (BAFS) but also encouraged them to understand the importance of learning theoretical concepts.

To help students gain a better understanding of the accounting profession, a “BAFS Talk Series: Bringing Theory to Practice” will be held by Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for Secondary 4-6 students.

Receiving HK$12,000 in funding from Wofoo Social Enterprises, the second “My Community Service Project” kicked off in late June 2018. Two community projects, namely “Fortune of Life” and “Hong Kong Culture Hunt: Finding Our Mysterious Past”, were carried out. Through these activities, our students had an opportunity to understand more about our society and to mingle with secondary school students and ethnic minority children.
