Continuing Education Fund (CEF)


Eligibility

Persons who:

  • are Hong Kong residents who have the right of abode or the right to land or to remain in Hong Kong without restriction. Holders of one-way permits from Mainland China may also apply;
  • have enrolled in and paid the tuition fee for a reimbursable course before the course commences; and
  • are aged from 18 to 65 at the time of application and on seeking reimbursement of their fees.

Application Procedures

If you have not submitted any application for CEF before, you are required to open an account with CEF before the commencement of the course, by submitting a CEF Application Form (SFO 192) which can be downloaded from the CEF website. Late applications will NOT be processed.

Steps:

  1. Bring your completed CEF Application Form (SFO 192) to the HKCC Information Kiosks for certification before the course commences:

    Commencement Date of Courses:-
    Semester One 2018/19: 3 September 2018
    Semester Two 2018/19: 21 January 2019
    Summer Term 2018/19: 17 June 2019

  2. Submit the certified application form with a photocopy of your HKID card to the Office of Continuing Education Fund (OCEF) before the course commences.

How to Claim Reimbursement

Each successful applicant will be provided with a Reimbursement Claim Form (RCF) (SFO 193) from the OCEF. The form should be submitted together with the letter of certification issued by the College after successful completion of the reimbursable course(s) to the OCEF and, in any event, within four years from the date the application was approved.

Successful completion means you have attained the overall mark of 50% of assessment(s) as prescribed for the course and have attended no less than 70% of the contactable hours of the course.

Steps:

  1. Apply for a letter of certification from the College by submitting a completed Form 38 - Application for CEF Letter of Certification (downloadable here or obtainable at HKCC Information Kiosks) to prove your successful completion of the reimbursable course(s) after the assessment result announcement.

    The letter of certification will be ready for collection at the HKCC Information Kiosks after 14 working days upon receiving your application.

  2. Bring the completed RCF to the HKCC Information Kiosks for certification.

  3. Return the RCF, letter(s) of certification and copies of all other necessary documents (e.g. fee receipts and the front page of your bank passbook/statement showing the name, account number and bank name / bank code) to the OCEF to apply for partial tuition fee reimbursement from CEF.

Attention:
In respect of any courses for which the fees are to be reimbursed, upon seeking reimbursement of the fees, the applicant must not have obtained any other public funds or publicly-funded financial assistance for the same course, such as grants or loans from the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students administered by the Student Finance Office (SFO).
