The Associate Scheme in Design has participated in the Business of Design Week (BODW) City Programme 2022 by offering three activities, namely "SO TREENDY!" exhibition, Botanical Sketching Workshop, and a public visit to the PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus. The BODW, organised by Hong Kong Design Centre, is an Asia's premier annual event on design, innovation and brands.

"SO TREENDY!" was an exhibition in which five sets of tree-fashion were showcased at the Organic Maze at K-FARM in Kennedy Town from 27 November to 4 December 2022 to explore how fashion can be a medium to express the unique features of local trees. The exhibits were created by 12 year-two students from the Associate in Design (Visual Communication) with 7 alumni as their mentors. The fashion designs were tailor-made for five kinds of familiar trees in town, namely banyan, bombax ceiba, melaleuca, rainbow eucalyptus, and bottle palm. The public were invited to connect art and nature in a new perspective.

Artist Mr Cheng Chi-fai was invited to host the two-hour Botanical Sketching Workshop on 3 December at the Spring Pavilion at K-FARM. Participants were first given a guided tour to the "SO TREENDY!" exhibition right next to the workshop on observing different plants through sketching. They then translated their sketches onto a tote bag or a pencil case with fabric colouring pens.

The public visit to the PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus would be held on 3 February 2023.
