Li Suen-chi, a 2021 graduate of Associate in Design (Visual Communication), won a scholarship and an internship opportunity from People on Board, a social enterprise, with an interesting card game featuring "Cha Chaan Teng". Her design was displayed at the Hong Kong Book Fair in July 2021. It also attracted the attention of the famous local brand, Lee Kam Kee, to further develop Suen-chi's game for mass production.
A big fan of Hong Kong's foods, Suen-chi designed this card game in the hope that it would familiarise players with the local "Cha Chaan Teng" culture. Having put a lot of time and energy into this project, she was thrilled and greatly encouraged by the result. Now a year-three student of PolyU's BA (Hons) in Communication Design, she believed intellectual curiosity was the most important driving force. "I am certainly not the top student among my peers, but that's also why I dare to ask more, try more, and make more mistakes in order to improve," shared Suen-chi.
