Prof. Wilco Chan Wai-hung, Visiting Professor of Institute for Tourism Studies, Macao, was invited to give a guest talk to students from Higher Diploma in Event Management, and those who took the course "Introduction to Tourism" on 4 April 2023.
Prof. Chan has extensive research and teaching expertise in the hospitality technology and environmental management field. In the talk, he introduced the students the concept of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and certifications in green building rating systems like LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) with various real-life examples from Macao and the Greater Bay Area to illustrate the importance of gaining recognition by sustainability certifications.
