Hong Kong Community College, an affiliate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, cordially invites you to visit its forthcoming Open Studio 2016. This event, which will be held on 14/F, PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus from 19 to 21 May 2016 (10 am - 7 pm), showcases the final projects of students from the four design programmes under the Associate Degree Scheme in Design, namely Advertising Design, Environment and Interior Design, Product Design, and Visual Communication. Guided tours, “Meeting with Design Alumni” sharing sessions, and Critique Days will also be arranged during the period. All are welcome!

Dear Friends,
Let me start by welcoming you all to this Exhibition put together by the twelfth cohort of our Design graduates! In congratulating their achievement, I would be most delighted to wish them success in this capstone event as well as subsequent developments!
Since the inception of our Design Programme back in 2003, we have been generously supported by the School of Design (SD) of PolyU in many big ways. Together with those supports, our Design team has been working very hard too in strengthening our Design Programmes with regard to their formal curricula and co-curricular activities, teaching and learning pedagogy, studio facilities and equipment, and so forth.
I am proud to report to you that our Design students and graduates perform very well in their studies and career development. They are also recognized externally by a wide range of awards and prizes such as The 35th Hong Kong Film Award Poster Competition, Sony World Photography Award, HK4As Kam Fan Student Award, Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards (Student Category), IFVA Awards, Arts Pavilion Competition of West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, The Fly High Advertising Creative Contest, etc.
One thing that is worth-mentioning is about the format of this year’s Exhibition which is very different from previous years. Consisting of two parts, Part 1 of is Open Studio which includes Guided Tours, Meeting with Design Alumni Sessions and Critique Days of the 4 Design Programmes. Part 2 is Design Annual Show 2016 which will showcase the best selected works of our Year 1 and Year 2 students.
Throughout the past decade, our Exhibition has become an iconic event not only for our Design colleagues and students but also for the design communities at large. I am confident that our team will endeavor their best efforts to make this “a good show”.
