On 20 November 2025, Kit Tsang and Marcus Wong, developers of the AI Font Project, delivered a guest lecture to students of the PolyU HKCC Associate in Design (Visual Communication) programme, highlighting the transformative role of AI in tailored script fonts creation based on handwriting.
The AI Font Project uses custom-trained AI models to recognise pixel structures in Chinese characters and analyse stroke patterns with remarkable precision. This approach addresses fallbacks in font types that lack complete Chinese character sets, while also enabling the expansion of character set of any handwritten manuscripts.
Currently in its early stage, the project invites public feedback and creative input through its free AI Chinese font creation platform, Font2.art.
