From 21 June to 6 July 2025, 12 students from the Humanities and Communication Scheme of PolyU HKCC embarked on a 16-day Language and Cultural Exchange Tour in Auckland, New Zealand. The students participated in a dynamic programme, hosted by the University of Auckland, featuring interactive lessons and cultural activities designed to enhance their appreciation for New Zealand's rich heritage while expanding their global perspective.
The itinerary included memorable excursions to Rotorua and Waitomo, where the students explored glowworm caves, toured a sheep farm, sampled indigenous cuisine, and took their first ride on horseback. They also visited a local college, gaining firsthand insight into New Zealand's diverse and inclusive educational environment.
A highlight of the tour was the homestay experience, with each student welcomed into an English-speaking host family. This immersive arrangement not only enhanced their language skills but also cultivated a deeper understanding of New Zealand's way of life.
