Dr Man graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and M.Phil degrees from The University of Hong Kong before completing her doctorate specialising in Music and Culture from the University of Liverpool, the UK. In recognition of her academic performance, she was elected as Swire Scholar by The University of Hong Kong, awarded Rayson Huang Scholarship, L.P.C. Charity Trust Fund (Overseas) Scholarship and HKSAR Arts Development Fund.
Prior to joining HKCC, Dr Man had gained extensive experience in teaching subjects including musicology, mass media in Asia as well as Chinese and Western cultures in local and overseas tertiary institutions, including The University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong-Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community College and University of Liverpool, etc.
Her research interests include Chinese popular music, Hong Kong culture, East and West Philosophy. Her research papers in the areas of popular music studies and media censorship have already been published. She is also actively involved in international academic community by presenting and reviewing papers.
Her hobbies include swimming, golf, travelling and music.
