Dr Ying-ho Kwong obtained his Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Policy Studies and Administration at the City University of Hong Kong. With a focus on comparative politics, he obtained his Master of Philosophy in Government and Public Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Politics and Public Administration from The University of Hong Kong with a focus on territorial autonomies.

Dr Kwong's research interests include contentious politics, territorial autonomies and the politics of Asian, particularly Hong Kong and Macao comparative studies. He has published articles in some international peer-reviewed journals.

Prior to joining this institution, Dr Kwong had extensive teaching experience in different institutions including the City University of Hong Kong, The Open University of Hong Kong, the Centennial College, The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The Education University of Hong Kong, teaching a wide range of courses related to Public Administration, Policy Studies and Politics.
