Dr Jamie Lo acquired her Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Catering Management, Master of Science in Hotel and Tourism Management, and Doctor of Hotel and Tourism Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is also a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and a Registered Educator of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

Dr Lo started her teaching career in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining this institution, she worked as a programme manager in the College of Business and Finance of HKU SPACE, responsible for the planning and development of hospitality and tourism, wine studies and sommelier, and banqueting management programmes, etc.

Dr Lo also possesses extensive industry experience. She has worked in the catering and event planning departments of different renowned hotels, clubhouses, and catering companies. She started out as a management trainee and then gradually worked her way up to a managerial position.
