Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

Dr Pamela Ho devoted her career in the travel and tourism industry since she got her BA (Hons) degree in Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It was where she subsequently obtained her PhD. Having worked in various travel and tourism organisations, Dr Ho possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the field.

Having started her academic career in 2000, Dr Ho enjoys teaching at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels at various institutions. To inspire is her teaching philosophy. Her teaching emphasises inspiring students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the area of tourism, a worldwide phenomenon. Through understanding more about the students, Dr Ho strives to be a better educator in every class.

Dr Ho has been engaged in curriculum planning and development for Award-bearing programmes and was invited by the Education Bureau as a trainer and manual developer for the New Secondary School Curriculum on Tourism and Hospitality Studies.

Contributing to the academic and community, Dr Ho has also been active in research and consultancy projects. Her research areas cover cultural tourism, attractions and theme parks management, and tourism marketing. She has published in referee journals and was responsible for several tourism related consultancy projects for private companies and the Hong Kong SAR Government including the Feasibility Study on Conservation and Development of Wun Yiu Pottery Kiln Site (2003) commissioned by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Northern New Territories Tourism Development Study (2002) for the Tourism Commission.
