Dr Ada Chan obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Construction Economics and Management with a first-class honour from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Upon graduation, she joined Levett & Bailey Chartered Quantity Surveyors Limited - a leading firm in its field - as a quantity surveyor. In 2000, Dr Chan received a postgraduate scholarship to pursue her PhD studies with the Department of Building and Real Estate at PolyU and was awarded her PhD in 2004. She also completed her Master of Business Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007. Dr Chan is also a member of The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Vice-President (Education) of The Australian Institute of Building (Hong Kong Chapter).
At HKCC, Dr Chan teaches subjects in the areas of Economics and Housing Studies, such as Introduction to Macroeconomics, Business Economics, and Property Management.
Her research interests span across various aspects of the construction field and the education field, including construction management, construction economics, procurement system, and the implementation of peer tutoring scheme in undergraduate studies.
