Mrs Yu has achieved her Registered Nurse qualification from the Hong Kong Nursing Board since 1990's. She has rich experience in Intensive Care Nursing and Renal Nursing as she worked in the critical care setting for more than a decade. She worked as a clinical instructor in The University of Hong Kong afterwards and was acclaimed for her endeavor in helping students to bridge the theory-practice gap by providing ample examples of real-life experiences and relevant application of theories. She was also a research nurse in The University of Hong Kong for medical research about the relationship of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases.

Mrs Yu received her Bachelor of Health Studies from The University of Paisley (UK) and Bachelor of Nursing from The University of Hong Kong in 1990's. She did pursue her studies in different aspects for her profession: infection controls, renal nursing, clinical teaching and palliative nursing etc. She has studied for the Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology (HKU) and is now pursuing a Master of Science in Stroke and Clinical Neurosciences (CUHK) and Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (CSPP). Her research interests are in neurosciences and education.

Mrs Yu loves to share with students her passions and experiences. She keeps working on bringing theories to lives with high applicability so as to inspire and motivate students to learn.
