Mr Ivan Chung pursued his undergraduate studies as a major in physiology and biochemistry at the University of New South Wales, Australia where he graduated with honours in 1984. Then in 1985, he undertook professional training in nutrition and dietetics at the University of Sydney, and subsequently registered as a dietitian with the Institute of Dietitians, Australia.
Mr Chung worked for about three years as a dietitian in the public hospitals of Hong Kong which were then managed by the Medical & Health Department of the Hong Kong Government. From 1988 to 2004, Ivan witnessed the gradual transformation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was then associated with the Department of Applied Biology; Chemical Technology of PolyU as an academic staff, teaching degree and sub-degree subjects. He has about 10 publications on nutrition and research.
In 2004, Ivan joined HKCC as a college lecturer. He enjoys meeting young and energetic students, and envisages a bright future for HKCC. He is currently teaching science subjects under the Associate Degree in Science, namely Food Hygiene & Nutritional Health, Environmental Science, and General Microbiology.
