Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

Dr Choi Wai-yuk received her BA (Hons) in Chinese (first class honours) from the City University of Hong Kong (CityU). She then received her MPhil and PhD in Classical Chinese Literature and Philology from the same university, with the focus on the Qin, Han and Ming dynasties. Her research interest mainly focuses on the cultural phenomenon of the Qin and Han dynasties, and the literature of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Dr Choi was a lecturer at CityU. She is experienced in teaching, especially in teaching the development of Chinese History and Philosophy, Classical Chinese Literary Criticism, Classical Chinese, Modern Chinese Literature, Chinese Language and Culture, and Chinese Communication Skills. Her teaching experience has aroused her enthusiasm for language teaching and research interest in Chinese culture.

Besides reading and research, Dr Choi enjoys hiking and travel. She loves to immerse herself in natural and cultural landscapes.
