Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

Ms Jean Cheung graduated from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) where she double majored in English and Comparative Literature for her Bachelor’s degree (First Class Honors) and researched on Taiwanese identity and cinema for her Master of Philosophy thesis.

Having been educated in an American environment before studying at HKU, Ms Cheung’s current research focuses on the relationship between Asian culture and Western theory. Her interests include memory and nostalgia, sound and music, and cinematic language.

At HKCC, Ms Cheung teaches English and Communication courses. She has also taught English to nursing students at Tung Wah College.

When she is not teaching, Ms Cheung enjoys poetry writing, oil painting and web designing. Her visual art and writings have been shown in print and at academic events.
