Mr Jason Chan received his Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary English Studies from Lingnan University, and was awarded First Class Honours. He then pursued a Master of Arts in Linguistics majoring in General Linguistics in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. There he attained the top graduate of the year and completed the programme with distinction.

His expertise and research interests lie in the areas of phonetics and phonology of Hong Kong English, trilingual studies, sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics. Academic aspect aside, he has been engaging himself in English presentations as well as English Drama Performances, particularly Shakespeare’s Dramas.

Prior to joining HKCC, Mr Chan taught English and Communication up to Diploma level in Youth College under the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and Business English up to Higher Group Diploma level in Hong Kong School of Commerce. In addition, he developed teaching and learning materials for various English courses there. He also served as a part-time English instructor for Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE).
