Dr Helen Yeh earned the Doctor of Education from the University of Bristol, where she conducted research on the effective framework of independent language learning by using digital tools. She has taught English, Business Communication, Bilingualism, Bilingual Education, Language Curriculum, English for Specific Purposes and English for Academic Studies at different levels in various tertiary institutions respectively. She has also organised and conducted teacher training programmes at schools and educational centres. Apart from teaching, she has rich experience in administration and management with proven leadership skills in both commercial and educational institutions. She is now in charge of the HKCC Self-learning Language Centres.
Her research interests are broadly concerned with independent language learning, computer-mediated communication, language curriculum design, language teaching/learning, and business communication. She has published in the aforesaid areas in various conference proceedings, books, book chapters and international peer-reviewed journals. She has served on the editorial review boards for the International Journal of Adult Vocational Education and Technology and has been an editor and a manuscript reviewer for a range of international journals. In addition, she has given many invited talks/seminars at schools and organisations.
She enjoys engaging in voluntary work. Towards this end, she has kept serving leadership positions again and again at different organisations such as Founder and President of Hong Kong Baptist University MA in Language Studies Alumni Association, Founding Member of TWGHs New SOHO New Life Association, Vice President (2006) of Apex Junior Chamber, Executive Director (2008-2011) of Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association, Director (2014 - 2015) of Lions Nature Education Foundation, etc.
