Ms Cherry Wu received her bachelor’s degree (double major in Chinese Language and Literature and Linguistics) from The University of Hong Kong. During her studies, she had been on the Dean’s Honours List. She was also awarded the HKU Worldwide Exchange Scholarship and spent half a year in Norway as an exchange student. To enrich her knowledge in Linguistics, she completed her master’s degree (Linguistics) at The University of Hong Kong. Ms Wu’s research interests lie mainly in syntax and morphology of Chinese and English, and phonetics of Huizhou dialect.
Prior to joining HKCC, Ms Wu taught English in the College of International Education of Hong Kong Baptist University and Youth College under the Vocational Training Council (VTC). She also developed teaching and learning materials there.
Ms Wu enjoys learning languages. She has learnt German, Norwegian and Mandarin. Mandarin is of particular interest to her. She obtained Level 2 Grade A in the National Putonghua Proficiency Test, and passed the Language Proficiency Assessment for Chinese Teachers.
