Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

  • English

Ms Phoebe Siu graduated with first-class honor from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in English – a cradle for nurturing her sense of appreciation of English Language as well as Literature.

Her passion towards English has been further deepened through summer overseas study in the University of Victoria, Canada and cultural excursion in renowned spots in the U.K. and Scotland, ranging from London, Bath, Cambridge, Oxford to Edinburgh. With strong interest in post-colonial literature written in English, she later pursued a Master of Philosophy degree in English Literary Studies in CUHK.

Throughout the five-year study in CUHK, Ms Siu had been consecutively awarded with a number of scholarships and selected into the Dean List for academic excellence, leadership and community service. Upon graduation, Ms Siu has further nourished her career dream in becoming a lifelong educator by serving as a senior English instructor in a private educational organisation for three years and a visiting instructor (specialising in Business Oral English and Interpersonal Communication) in the Hong Kong College of Technology.

Upholding the spirit of lifelong learning, Ms Siu finished pursuing her second Master's degree (M.S.Sc.) in Corporate Communication (CUHK) in 2009 and commenced her brand new teaching path in HKCC.

Her research interest diversifies from post-colonial English writing, autobiographical and biographical writing, corporate communication to brand management.

Ms Siu appreciates music, drama, films and travels for leisure and is a devoted Christian.
