Dr Shih Pei-chun graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, National Taiwan University. She then received her MA in Translation Studies and PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham in 2003 and 2011 respectively.

Being able to speak various languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Japanese, Dr Shih is devoted to the investigation of linguistic transference between these few languages. Her research interests include screen translation and linguistic politeness.

Dr Shih is well experienced in teaching at both secondary and tertiary levels. Before joining HKCC, she served as a lecturer first at Lingnan Institute of Further Education and then The Community College at Lingnan University.
