Dr Kathy Lee Ka-man obtained her first degree – Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English – from The Chinese University of Hong Kong where, two years later, she was conferred a Master of Philosophy in Applied English Linguistics followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at her alma mater. She was then awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Linguistics from Lancaster University, UK.

Dr Lee is an active researcher in sociolinguistics and social semiotics. She has presented and published in multimodality, gesture, intercultural communication and language acquisition in international conferences and academic journals. She has also been serving as a reviewer for several academic journals and conferences. Her current research project focuses on lectures conducted in English as the medium of instruction.

Currently, she is the honourable advisor of Social Services Society and Student Christian Fellowship.
