Since taking up her postgraduate studies, Dr Wong had been awarded scholarships and studentship. Her research areas included drug control policies, substance abuse problems among young people, and the roles of social work. Besides, Dr Wong has presented papers in international and local conferences and published book chapters, conference papers, and research reports.
Dr Wong also possesses tertiary institution teaching experience which she gained while working as a tutor at The University of Hong Kong. Subject areas she taught there included social work, social welfare, social policy and social administration.
Apart from experience in research and teaching, Dr Wong, a Registered Social Worker (RSW), also has direct fieldwork experience in various social welfare organisations such as girls’ homes, hospitals, secondary schools, and drug treatment and rehabilitation centers.
At HKCC, Dr Wong teaches subjects on social welfare, social work, self understanding and communication skills.
