Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

  • Design

Mr Justin Lau received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Creative Media with scholarship from “ Swire University Scholarship Fund” from the City University of Hong Kong, his Master of Design (Strategic Design) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Design, and his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Professional Vocational Education) from The Hong Kong Institute of Education. Justin is also a Full Member of Hong Kong Designers Association and Certified Professional of Autodesk 3ds Max Design (MHKDA).

Justin worked as a creative director, art director and freelancer for more than a decade. He has wide-ranging commercial design experience including graphic design, branding, publishing, advertising, web & interaction, event & exhibition, and photography.

Prior to joining HKCC, Justin taught full-time or part-time in various tertiary education institutes in the field of advertising and design including the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Hong Kong Design Institute; the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong; Coventry University, the University of Sunderland and Raffles Design Institute etc.

In 2007, Justin involved in a community creativity project with Hong Kong Community Museum Project: In Search of Marginalized Wisdom – Sham Shui Po Craftsperson Exhibition.

In October 2011, he was one of the creative consultants at Hong Kong Design Institute, leading a student-commercial project for a product launching show titled “ A Journey of Wisdom Lloyd 4D Faça ade Projection Show” of a German brand– LLOYD.
