Mr Brian Hung graduated from the School of Film and Television of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts where he was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree with first-class honours. He then pursued his studies at New York University in the United States and obtained his Master’s Degree in Studio Art: Art in Media. He received Jack Goodman Scholarship from New York University during his study. He further obtained an Advanced Professional Certificate in Advertising in Hong Kong after completing his study overseas.

He won a scholarship to participate in the Kodak Budapest Cinematography Masterclass organised by the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers and sponsored by Kodak. The course was instructed by two famous Hollywood cinematographers: László Kovács and Vilmos Zsigmond.

He has worked in creative industries – film, advertising and music video production as a videographer, photographer and digital media designer. He participated in different projects such as Ang Lee’s movie “Lust Caution”, Shu Ning Presentation Unit with the Hong Kong Arts Festival, now.com, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Spring-Time Stage Productions.

His works have been shown in various film festivals around the world, including Brazil (Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival), Canada (Festival des films du Monde-Montreal, Calgary International Film Festival, Silver Wave Film Festival) Germany (Regensburg Short Film Week), Greece (International Short Film Festival of Drama), Ireland (Cork Film Festival) , the United States ( San Francisco Asian American Film Festival, San Diego Asian American Film Festival, The International Festival of Cinema & Technology - Florida, Asian Film Festival of Dallas), Japan (Osaka Asian Film Festival), and Hong Kong (Hong Kong International Film Festival, Indpanda International Short Film Festival, Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards).

His short film “Uptown Downtown” received a jury award in the 39th Worldfest Houston International Film Festival in the United States. He has commissioned by RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong) to direct his latest work “Those Unseen Hands” in the documentary series programme - Angel on earth.
