Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

Ms Christine Hui obtained her Diploma and Bachelor in Social Work from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1993 and 2001 respectively. After that, she furthered her study in CUHK for enhancing her counselling skills and knowledge and obtained the Master's degree in Social Work (Clinical).

Ms Hui has been committed to social service since 1993. She worked as a social worker in different services such as rehabilitation service for pre-school children and adults, parents' educational services, group and community services, school social work service. She has focused on exploring the application of family therapy in clinical practice in recent years.

Besides, Ms Hui possesses tertiary institution teaching experience while working as a tutor at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The subject areas that she taught include introduction to social work, social welfare, basic counselling theories and skills. She was a placement supervisor for the M.SocSc students of Social Work Department, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in order to share her clinical experiences.

She perceives teaching is not only about teaching skills and knowledge. Cultivating and building up students’ potential is much more rewarding and important.

Ms Hui is a registered social worker and a member of The Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association.
