Teaching and Scholarly Interests:

Dr Lau Siu-lai received her bachelor’s degree in Social Science, master of philosophy in Sociology, and PhD in Cultural Sociology and Historical Sociology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Her research interests lie mainly in the relation between Literature and Hong Kong Society, Love and Intimacy and Generation. She has published research papers in international journals.

Before joining HKCC, Dr Lau had been working as a tutor in CUHK for about 10 years. She has taught a wide range of sociology subjects, including Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theories, Hong Kong Society, Medical Society, Social Problems, and Gender Issues.
