Specialising in hospitality and tourism management, Ms Jennifer Leong is a lecturer and subject leader at HKCC. Prior to joining the academic field in 1994, Ms Leong had worked for organisations in Hawaii, Australia, and Macau – experiences which have given her not only the international exposure so vital to practitioners of the dynamic tourism industry, but also the capacity to understand the diverse needs of tourists from different cultures.

During the past 11 years that she has devoted herself to teaching, Ms Leong was also involved extensively in university administration, especially in the area of curriculum planning and monitoring. As a programme leader, Ms Leong has started and firmly established five self-financed top-up degree programmes which are now running successfully. Besides, Ms Leong also worked closely with the industry to foster collaboration on placement opportunities for hotel and tourism students.

Ms Leong has published papers in prestigious referred research journals including International Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Administration and Tourism Review; she has also edited a tourism textbook and presented papers in international conferences.

Ms Leong has also served as an adjudicator in the final round of the "Fascinating Hong Kong" Tourist Guide Competition jointly organised by the Tourism Commission, the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and the Hong Kong Association of Registered Tour Coordinators.
