Programme Objectives 課程宗旨

This programme offered by HKCC aims to provide Secondary 5 graduates an alternative route for entry into Associate Degree progammes and Higher Diploma programmes. It further aims to contribute towards the all-round development of students as well as towards their language skills, generic skills and broadbased knowledge that support lifelong learning.

香港專上學院開辦之綜合教育基礎課程，旨在為有志升學的中五畢業生提供升讀副學士課程或
高級文憑課程的途徑。課程著重培養學生的全人發展、語言技巧及一般基礎知識的運用，以達
到終生學習的目標。

Programme Structure 課程結構

Students are required to complete 188-hour non-credit bearing foundation study, 7 compulsory subjects (21 credits) and 4 electives (12 credits).

學生須修畢188小時的非學分基礎科目、7個必修科目(21個學分)及4個選修科目(12個學分)。

Remarks備註：
1. Students with Level 3 or above (grade D or above for results obtained before 2007) in Chinese Language AND at least 10 points# in 6 subjects in one single HKCEE
attempt are exempted from taking ‘Foundation Chinese’.
在同一次香港中學會考中，於6科取得總積點最少10點#及中國語文科考獲第三級或以上(2007年以前為D級或以上)的學生可獲豁免修讀「基礎中文」。

2. Students with Level 3 or above in English Language (grade D or above in English Language (Syllabus B) for results obtained before 2007) AND at least 10 points# in 6 subjects in one single HKCEE attempt are exempted from taking ‘Foundation English’.
在同一次香港中學會考中，於6科取得總積點最少10點#及英國語文科考獲第三級或以上(2007年以前英國語文(課程乙)為D級或以上)的學生可獲豁免修讀「基礎英文」。

# Levels 1 to 5* for Chinese Language and English Language will be converted into points 0 to 5 respectively.
中國語文科及英國語文科的第一至五*級相應化為0至5積點。

Academic Year and Study Load 學年及修習進度

There are two teaching semesters (commencing in September and January) in each academic year. Students are required to take ‘Foundation English’, ‘Foundation Chinese’ and 4 compulsory subjects in Semester 1 and 3 compulsory subjects and 4 electives in Semester 2. Students exempted from Foundation English’ will take ‘Use of English I’ in Semester 1. Similarly, students exempted from ‘Foundation Chinese’ will take ‘Use of Chinese’ in Semester 1. ‘Workshops on Skills for College Students’ will be held throughout the academic year.

每學年分為兩個學期 (分別在9月及1月開課)。學生須於第1學期修讀「基礎英文」、「基礎中 文」及4個必修科及於第2學期修讀3個必修科及4個選修科。如學生取得「基礎英文」的豁免資 格，將會於第1學期修讀「英語運用I」；而取得「基礎中文」豁免資格的學生，將會於第1學 期修讀「中文運用」。「大專學習技巧工作坊」則於學年內舉行。
