Continuing Education Fund (CEF)
Eligibility
To apply for reimbursement under the CEF, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hong Kong residents who have the right of abode or the right to land or to remain in Hong Kong without restriction, i.e. "A" (right of abode), "R" (right to land) or "U" (remain in Hong Kong without restriction) should appear below the date of birth on the Hong Kong Smart Identity card, or holders of One-way permit from the Mainland China;
- Be aged 18 or above when the CEF reimbursable course commenced;
- Have enrolled in and paid the tuition fee for the CEF reimbursable course;
- Have submitted a signed consent form to the College for disclosure of personal data to the Specified Public Authorities for the purposes of fee reimbursement prior to the CEF reimbursable course commencement; and
- Submit the reimbursement application within one year upon the successful completion of the course (Note: according to the course completion date or the date of the specified language benchmark test / examination (if applicable), whichever is later). Late applications will not be accepted
Reimbursement Procedures
Applicants must follow these steps to claim reimbursement
- Complete the Application Form [SFO 313 (2024)] and submit the supporting documents. This application form is also applicable to applicants who have opened a CEF account before 1 August 2022 to apply for fee reimbursement only.
- Application Form [SFO 313 (2024)] can be obtained from the Office of the Continuing Education Fund (OCEF) and District Offices or downloaded from the OCEF website. Applicants may complete and submit the online application form with supporting documents through "GovHK".
- HKCC students are required to apply for the Letter of Certification via the College's online platform* "Application for CEF Letter of Certification" after successful completion of the reimbursable course before the application submission to the OCEF for CEF reimbursement. Otherwise, the application without prior verification by the College will be rejected for the reason "Incomplete".
- Successful completion means you have passed the reimbursable course, attained the overall mark of 50% of assessment(s) as prescribed for the course and have attended no less than 70% of the contactable hours of the course.
* The College's online platform will be opened for application in designated period in each semester.
Attention:
In respect of any courses for which the fees are to be reimbursed, upon seeking reimbursement of the fees, the applicant must not have obtained any other public funds or assistance under any other publicly-funded financial assistance schemes for the same course, such as grants or loans from the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students administered by the Student Finance Office.
